Blocks 1 and 3- Due Monday, May 17th

  • “Fahrenheit 451″ Final Projects due- 1oo pts.

Your final cumulative project guidelines will be given to you on Monday, have a good weekend.

      Friendly reminder- even though it was mentioned last Friday-

      • First version of Rough Draft paper is due Thursday, April 8th-Typed/Printed- 50 points
      • It’s alright if you don’t have Intro/Conclusion yet, but you  MUST have three body paragraphs with your nine quotes/statistics/facts/charts, etc.
      • We will be editing and revising our rough drafts Thursday, so it is IMPERATIVE that you bring your rough draft to class- punishment will include major loss of points and possible detention.

      February 25th- Congratulations on finishing Macbeth! Cumulative final over the whole book is Monday!  Review the study guide, old quizzes, worksheets and any notes you have taken.  This will be a challenging test and will include quotes and analysis of specific lines.

      February 19th- things to know for Macbeth Act IV quiz

      1. three apparitions
      2. final vision to Macbeth from witches regarding future kings
      3. specifics of Malcolm and Macduff’s conversation
      • Malcolm “gently accuses” Macduff of two things- that he loved Macbeth and that he is still safe when everyone else is dying, can Macduff be trusted?
      • Malcolm makes outrageous claims that he wants to sleep with many women (even though we eventually find out he is a virgin) and that he wants more land, jewels, etc
      • Malcolm finally comes clean and admits he was lying, testing Macduff.  He also admits that Macbeth has tried to tempt him with women, land and money.

      4.  Quiz-there are four short answers, one quote and three true/false. (15 points)

      Bonus- Write down your favorite movie villain and why.  Turn in to me on the day of the quiz: two points.

      Double Bonus- starting immediately after I post this (Wednesday, Feb.17, 10:50 am) first person to ask Mr. Beck his favorite movie villain gets an extra two bonus points.
